Comments in your email footer

by Wikus Engelbrecht - GraphicMail Marketing Team 13. March 2011 23:26

Smart marketers have realized that marketing these days is all about building communities of loyal brand followers – people who will recommend your products to their friends, who will recommend it to their friends, and so on.  Of course, the internet is an ideal medium – and email marketing is many a marketer’s favourite channel.

We’ve decided to make your emails more interactive.  One of the reasons why users find Facebook so engaging is that they get to interact with what is being said – whether through “liking” or commenting on what you, or your business, have said.

Even though email is still the most popular marketing tool, it doesn’t hurt to borrow from what works on other channels.  That’s why we’ve been working to make your emails more engaging.  (Remember the “like” button we introduced in your newsletter headers, allowing subscribers to “like” your email on Facebook?)

The next step: Adding comments to your newsletter

You can now include a comments section in the footer of your newsletter.  This enables readers to add their own thoughts, comments, recommendations and questions to your email.

How it works: There’ll be a link in the footer of your newsletter “Comment on this newsletter” which links through to the online hosted version of your email.  Subscribers will be able to comment on this online version, and anyone who views your newsletter online will be able to read and respond to their comments.

The newsletter comments are stored within your account under the “Newsletter Comments” section. You can authorize the comments, so you can moderate and respond to them. There is also the option to have the comments emailed to you.

Try it out and let us know what you think!
