Did you take part in our survey?
In August we sent out 4,913 emails asking our South African, US and Canadian clients to take part in our customer survey. We were very impressed with the 10% who completed the survey immediately – we gained so much valuable insight into our service and your needs, especially through the comments!

I thought you’d like to see the results, so I've shared a few highlights:
An impressive 50% of you use GraphicMail to create campaigns for your own businesses! That’s fantastic, once again indicating that email marketing is an excellent direct marketing tool for small to medium businesses. I'm slightly in awe of the sense of entrepreneurship among GraphicMailers. (As an aside, 63% of the clients who joined us over the last 6 months were ladies!)
Not surprisingly, most of our clients sign up with us either because of our affordable pricing, or because a friend or colleague recommended us. 33% of you think of us as a “trusted, longstanding email marketing service”- that one had management grinning from ear to ear.
What was good to see, was that 32% of GraphicMailers make regular use of the subscriber segmentation tool – which I take as a sign that you’re taking all my calls for relevant content to heart. It's an excellent way to keep your subscribers engaged. Our most popular automated tool seems to be personalization with 59% of you using it often. Good thing too, it’s such a standard email marketing trick.
Sadly, 48% had never heard of our power tools (like FeedMail, TriggerMail and social share) before, which seems to indicate that most of you stick to the email marketing basics. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but tools like TriggerMail can do wonders for targeting your sends, while social share extends your audience. All in all, power tools can improve your results.
You also proved that email marketing is not only for techie 18 year olds - 70% of GraphicMail clients are between the ages of 31 – 59.
I find it interesting that most of you have never used an email marketing platform before, although 48% say that they've tried running email campaigns themselves using Outlook. I can only assume that it wasn't as successful as using a hosted solution. Doing it yourself via Outlook just gives you too many delivery issues, and no automation tools! About 30% have never done email marketing before. In fact, before using GraphicMail, most of you had never created a newsletter before.
All in all, it seems like newbies manage to find their way around the GraphicMail application. However, we’re definitely paying attention to all the requests we received for a simplified user interface and just an easier system in general. We’ll work on it for you!
