Ever heard of an event called AfrikaBurn? We thought not!
AfrikaBurn is an amazing experiment in modern-day community building – that is, a community that does not require logging into a social network!
“AfrikaBurn is a creative arts and freedom of expression festival that aims to build temporary community through collaborative arts projects, in a completely non-commercial environment.”
The event takes place in a remote, semi-desert location a few hours outside of Cape Town. All participants build an art installation, dress up themselves and their camp sites and enjoy a few days within a creative, inspiring environment.

There is no water. There is nothing for sale – no food, drink, or any other form of sustenance. Participants take everything they need and are required to remove any trace of their visit upon their departure.
Now what could this event possibly have to do with GraphicMail?
Our CEO is spending the few days (22nd – 25th of April) at AfrikaBurn with his family to recharge the creative juices and come back full of inspiration – and we’re jealous. (Guus Bierens, owner of GraphicMail Netherlands, Belgium and Germany is also joining him for a few days!) We think it sounds like an interesting idea and were wondering what our clients do when they need to unwind?
Find out more about this event on their website. We hope to post some photos to our Facebook fan page once he returns, so keep an eye out!
